President: Aisha Yaqoob

I am a third year from Suwanee, Georgia. I am majoring in Public Relations and minoring in Communication Studies. My coursework has an emphasis on Disability Studies and I hope to one day work for an organization the promotes the rights of people with disabilities. I'm a recent cat lover and long time lover of all things Facebook. I became involved with MSA because I wanted to be able to make an impact on an organization that could do so much good.

Vice President: Najlaa Bassim

I am a second-year student from Alpharetta, Georgia. I am double majoring in International Affairs and Arabic, with a Pre-law intention. I am your MSA VP, and this year I was also elected to be the Georgia MSA Council treasurer. The reason why I joined MSA was to raise awareness about Islam and also to strengthen our community, inshaAllah.
Fun-Fact: I was born and raised in the Middle East, in Iraq to be more specific. This will be my fourth year in the U.S.

Secretary: Sehrish Viqar

Salam everyone! My name is Sehrish Viqar and I am a third year Microbiology major. I am excited to serve as this year's Muslim Student Association secretary. I remember being a freshman and worrying about finding other muslims on campus to pray/fast with and I'm so glad I found MSA! I have made so many great friends through meetings and events and I can't wait to meet more! My goal this year is to make MSA more well known at UGA and reach out to muslim and nonmuslim students who are interested in being a part of the muslim community, or who just want to learn more about Islam. I hope to see you all at MSA events this year inshaAllah!

My name is Umar Taskeen. Originally I am from Pakistan and I live in Macon, Ga, where our city slogan is "Macon it happen." I'm a 4th year Chemistry Major and will be graduating this spring, InshaAllah.

Public Relations: Maheen Adnan

My name is Maheen Adnan. I was born in California and raised in Marietta, GA where I have lived most of my life. I am potentially an Economics major with an emphasis in Pre-Medicine. I enjoy traveling; I hope to travel most of the MIddle East, Europe and Asia one day. As Public Relations Chair for MSA, I hope to encourage MSA's involvement with other organizations on campus. I also hope to help strengthen the bond between the Muslims on campus to create a strong Muslim community.

Webmaster: Shajira Mohammed

I am a second-year from Alpharetta, GA. I am double majoring in Biology and Psychology with a Pre-med intention. As the webmaster, I hope to provide students with a great MSA website! I enjoy shopping, photography, and exploring Athens.
